We are honored to invite you for the 6th Annual meeting of the The Israeli Suicide Research Symposium (ISRS) that will be held in May 4 2020 at The Academic of Tel Aviv-Yaffo.
Worldwide, more than 1 million people die by suicide each year and about 500 hundred in Israel. Although we have made significant progress over the last decades in our understanding of risk factors for suicide, as well as in intervention and prevention strategies, much has yet to be learned and remains to be done.
The aim of forth ISRS conference is to provide a forum of those who share an interest in suicide prevention, intervention and postvention, including researchers, physicians, Clinicians, Social workers, Students and Educators, as well as those who have lost a loved one.
The four ISRS will discuss recent results on suicide, describe evidence based assessments techniques and intervention programs of suicidality. In addition, The National Council for Suicide Prevention in Israel will update about their activities regarding prevention and interventions programs.
Prof. David Klonsky, a Professor of psychology and Suicidology and an international expert on suicide prevention and intervention, will present a keynote lecture titled " New Approaches for Understanding and Preventing Suicide The Three-Step Theory of Suicide and the Ideation-to-Action Framework".
One of the highlight sessions will be "the next generation of the suicidality researchers". In this session, young investigators will present their innovative studies focusing in different aspect of suicidality.
The final session will discuss clinical cases by experts, as well as answer questions from attendees.
